• Types of frauds like trust Fraud, Credit card fraud, CSSA frauds, etc.

About the speakers:

Martin Li

Martin is a barrister and mediator from Central Chambers with a mixed civil and criminal law practice. He also lectures on criminal and contract law at the University of Law and reports on the latest leading cases in the HKLRD and HKCFAR law reports. He has appeared in all levels of Hong Kong courts, including the Court of Final Appeal. Recently, he was involved in HKSAR v Chen Keen & Ors. (HCCC 309/2019), a case involving allegations of conspiracy to defraud the Hong Kong Stock Exchange as well as a publicly listed company. In 2022, he was awarded the inaugural Patrick Yu Memorial Scholarship by the Bar Association in recognition of his criminal law practice. He holds a strong interest in white collar crime.

Ernie Tung

Ernie is a barrister from Central Chambers and is developing a criminal practice predominantly. He has been instructed to represent clients at all levels of court in Hong Kong. In his first case, Ernie appeared as junior counsel defending a client in the High Court involving a complex conspiracy to defraud the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. He has since been regularly briefed to represent and advise individuals on matters concerning dishonesty offences and money laundering. He has recently been instructed to oppose the extension of a restraint order pursuant to s. 15 OSCO. Besides his practice, Ernie is also a law reporter for HKCFAR and HKLRD law reports and recently commissioned to contribute to the Annotated Ordinances of Hong Kong on the title of Offences Against the Persons Ordinance (Cap. 212).
