Let’s get to know David Schaus, the founder of Legal Beagle Online Training. He’s an engineer at heart that brings creative ideas to success.
What does your job entail?
Dave: As founder, I look after all aspects of the company. I also have several other businesses that I run simultaneously. Fortunately, we have a great team at Legal Beagle which makes my job easier!
What is a typical day like?
Dave: No day is typical! From leading the team to answering client’s questions to a day full of zoom calls with clients, it’s always busy.
What do you like most about your job?
Dave: It’s great to have started the company from scratch to becoming very successful and backed by the HK Government, becoming the largest provider of Law Society online training in the world, to having most of the large international law firms as clients. This is similar to the other companies in our group – it’s satisfying to see them grow and prosper.
What do you like most about Legal Beagle?
Dave: Our team and clients. We have a loyal and dedicated team that works very hard to ensure we provide the best service and product to our customers. Our clients are constantly giving us feedback on what they want by way of content and design of our product – it’s a team effort that makes us better.
What do you like to do when you aren’t working?
Dave: I work a lot having a number of companies I run, but spending time with my family is my passion. I love hiking the Hong Kong parks with my family, gardening (I have a large rooftop garden) and going to the beach when possible.
What’s a fun fact about you many people may not know?
Dave: I’m a “geek” to the core, but I was the captain of the football team (American football) in high school.
Dave is also the founder of the Irwin Group of Companies, which has grown successful businesses in sectors including marine repair, oil spill cleanup, oil sludge recycling, pipe refurbishment, online notary services, and health care immunity screening technology, among other sectors. Through his businesses, he’s making positive contributions to society in many different areas.
