Course Description
Mental illness encompasses a wide range of mental health conditions — disorders that affect mood, thinking and behavior. With respect to criminal trials, mental illness potentially impacts a defendant’s competency with respect to many aspects of the trial. This seminar examines both the issue of competence and the insanity defense in criminal trials in Hong Kong.
